THRASHER X DIME POP-UP
Retail spaces are too clean for skate culture. The Thrasher x Dime Pop-Up is a gritty, standalone experiential activation that turns the Toronto waterfront into a physical hub for the skate community.

problem
Thrasher and Dime don't belong in pristine, polished storefronts. Skate culture demands DIY authenticity. The challenge was to build an activation where the merchandise feels earned by the community, rather than just sold to them.
solution
We took the pop-up out of the mall and brought it to the waterfront. By combining raw shipping containers with functional skatepark elements and a live-stream jumbotron, the activation acts as a retail store, a skate spot, and a branded hangout.
THE EXECUTION: RENDER TO REALITY The pop-up transforms the Harbourfront into a breathing, high-energy hub. By embedding the activation directly into a heavy-foot-traffic area, the retail experience takes a backseat to the physical skate community, turning a temporary store into a cultural landmark.

THE ARCHITECTURE: RAW MATERIALS
Skate brands shouldn't feel precious. The pop-up pulls its aesthetic from DIY skate spots, utilizing shipping containers, exposed steel frames, raw wood, and concrete. It feels temporary, physical, and alive.
THE EXPERIENCE: MORE THAN RETAIL
Every square foot is designed to keep the community engaged. It’s not just a shop—it’s an active environment. Visitors can shop limited-edition drops, skate the functional ramps, gather around the jumbotron for video premieres, and shoot photos.
THE BRANDING: UNAPOLOGETIC IDENTITY
The project mixes Thrasher’s loud, fearless attitude with Dime’s cleaner, industrial identity. Black-and-white graphics, heavy typography, and subtle Toronto references give the pop-up a localized, gritty edge.
